Guideline for Gateway-Core Installation
Gateway-Core is a full-feature data driver to collect and transmit data from local BMS to BeOP cloud.
1. Hardware requirement
Local Server:
- CPU: 1.6G dual core or above.
- Memory: 4G or above.
- Hard disk: 500G or above.
- Network card: 100M or above.
- OS: Windows 7 Professional 32/64 bit.
Data Transfer Unit:
- Network: 3G or above.
LAN:
- Network speed: 100kbps or above.
Test your network
Using ping command in Windows to address: ping beopdata.rnbtech.com.hk
2. Software requirement
2.1 Microsoft .NET Framework 4
- Please download it here from Microsoft.
2.2 MySQL Community 5.7
- Please download it here from MySQL.
- Please input the MySQL Root Password: RNB.beop-2013 in Accounts and Roles Definition.
- Please choose default options in all next steps.
- When all steps are correctly checked as shown in the screen below, MySQL has been successfully installed .
2.3 Gateway-Core
- Please download it here from R&B Technology.
- Please choose all default option during its installation.The installation directory can be changed to where you want to.
3. Run Gateway-Core
- After all above software is installed, you can run Gateway-Core from shortcut on Desktop or Program menu of Windows, as shown in the screenshots below. After click the Tray-icon on the lower right corner of Desktop, you can further click the ring icon to open the BeOPWatch program.
BeOPWatch program is a thread daemon to monitor the Gateway-Core program. The screenshot below shows how BeOPWatch works.
- Please check the box “Start DTU Connection”, write down the Data Terminal ID (etc.

) on its right, click the button “Restart Core”, and close the interface.
4. Get project data point table of BACnet/IP project
- Confirm the project is using BACnet/IP protocol in the LAN.
- Connect your workstaion into the LAN.
- Please download the BACnetTool to export data point table from the BMS. You are also strongly suggested to get one from original BMS vendor for data point cross check and verification.
- Setup BACnetTool with default options.
- Run the BACnetTool, right click "Bacnet Search", and click "Bacnet Search", all the BACnet equipments of local network will be listed in the list as following.
- Right click "Bacnet Search" on the left, click "Bacnet Export All", and choose a save directory. The exported data point table is a csv file.

5. Contact R&B support team
- Please send to R&B (by email or any instant messenger) the Data Terminal ID recorded in Step 3.
- Please send to R&B the data point table in Step 4 along with other supporting information such as BMS screenshots, equipment list, system description, etc.
